Aboitiz InfraCapital champions sustainability and community growth

Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC) has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and community development, showcasing a year of impactful initiatives across its business units. In celebration of Earth Day, AIC emphasised its role in driving environmental stewardship and inclusive progress through transformative infrastructure ecosystems.

Cosette Canilao, President and CEO of AIC, stated, “Building forward means creating infrastructure that drives growth whilst uplifting communities and protecting the environment.” This philosophy is evident in AIC's diverse projects, including sustainable water initiatives and green airports.

In Davao City, the Apo Agua Infrastructura, Inc. project delivers over 300 million litres of potable water daily, benefiting more than one million residents. The project also supports schools like Cabantian Elementary, where improved water access enhances hygiene practices. Additionally, AIC's watershed protection efforts, including reforestation and community engagement, ensure the sustainability of the water supply.

LIMA Water Corporation integrates sustainability into its operations with solar installations generating clean energy and reducing emissions. Community programmes include the provision of handwashing facilities and water quality monitoring tools to local schools and barangays.

AIC's airport operations also focus on sustainability. Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the country's first carbon-certified airport, employs energy-efficient systems. Meanwhile, Bohol-Panglao International Airport incorporates eco-friendly design features, such as solar energy systems and natural ventilation.

Through these initiatives, AIC continues to build infrastructure that fosters growth, protects the environment, and uplifts communities, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come
