Vlogfest Philippines 2026 kicked off on Thursday with a lively event at WYP Makati, uniting international content creators and tourism stakeholders. The festival, in collaboration with the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT), aims to highlight the Philippines through a four-week global digital campaign. Six renowned content creators, boasting a combined following of over 3.4 million across social media platforms, will explore iconic destinations such as Palawan, Boracay, and Cebu, crafting stories that capture the essence of Filipino culture and hospitality.
Sharlene Zabala-Batin, OIC-Assistant Secretary of the Branding and Marketing Communications Office of the DOT, emphasised the role of digital storytelling in influencing travel choices. “Vlogfest Philippines is more than a competition. It is a celebration of our nation’s soul,” she stated. Kathryn Halstead, Vlogfest Director, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the unique perspectives the creators will bring to a global audience.
The creators will embark on their journeys to various Philippine locales, producing content that will be shared on the Vlogfest website. The competition will conclude with a public voting period from 27 to 30 May, with the winner of the $15,900 (€15,000) prize announced on 31 May. This initiative not only aims to promote tourism but also to foster a deeper appreciation for the Philippines' rich cultural tapestry
