Gencom acquires iconic InterContinental Miami hotel

Gencom, a US-based investment firm, in partnership with Miami's White Bridge Capital, has acquired the InterContinental Miami, a 652-room hotel located at 100 Chopin Plaza. This acquisition marks Gencom's second InterContinental-branded property, following its purchase of the InterContinental New York Times Square in late 2025. The hotel, a prominent fixture in Downtown Miami, is situated at the confluence of the Miami River and Biscayne Bay.

The acquisition underscores Gencom's confidence in Miami's growth as a global hub for business and tourism. Alessandro Colantonio, Chief Investment Officer at Gencom, stated, "InterContinental Miami is a significant addition to Gencom’s portfolio and represents an important opportunity to deepen our presence in one of the most dynamic and globally recognised markets in the country."

The InterContinental Miami recently underwent a comprehensive renovation, enhancing its room interiors, Club InterContinental Lounge, and outdoor event spaces. Ignasi Puig, Managing Director of Acquisitions at Gencom, highlighted the hotel's strong operating performance and its potential for long-term value creation.

White Bridge Capital played a crucial role in the transaction, contributing significant equity capital. Tommy Campbell, CEO of White Bridge Capital, noted the partnership's commitment to unlocking the potential of exceptional assets.

The hotel offers extensive amenities, including 35 meeting rooms, a rooftop pool, and a diverse food-and-beverage programme. As part of IHG Hotels & Resorts' Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, the InterContinental brand continues to pioneer luxury travel experiences globally.
