Arundel Castle has revealed its 2026 events schedule, promising a series of engaging historical and horticultural experiences.
Visitors can look forward to immersive medieval festivals, vibrant garden displays, and unique cultural events throughout the year. Highlights include the Easter Medieval Festival, the renowned Tulip Festival, and the International Medieval Jousting Tournament.
The Easter Medieval Festival, from 3 to 5 April, will transport visitors back to 1189, celebrating the accession of Richard I with a lively medieval encampment. The castle's lower lawns will host displays of 12th-century combat, falconry, and archery, alongside interactive activities for all ages.
In April, the Tulip Festival will showcase over 100,000 tulip bulbs, featuring 120 unique varieties. This event, set against the castle's stunning backdrop, celebrates the artistry of Head Gardener Martin Duncan and his team. The Plant Fair on 19 April will offer a diverse selection of plants and expert advice from local nurseries.
May will see the Allium Extravaganza, transforming the gardens into a sea of vibrant blooms. The Medieval Festival – A Skirmish, from 23 to 25 May, will recreate a 1480s battle scenario, complete with authentic crafts and weaponry displays.
The International Medieval Jousting Tournament, from 21 to 26 July, will feature world-class competitors in a thrilling display of horseback combat. Visitors can also enjoy the Shakespeare open-air theatre production of "As You Like It" on 21 and 22 August.
