Aviation regulatory compliance platform OneReg recently secured a strategic investment from Air New Zealand.
The said investment marks a major milestone in the company’s ongoing global expansion.
Air New Zealand took a five percent stake in OneReg as of end-2025 and is rolling out the platform across nearly all of its operational and safety units.
The investment and large-scale deployment represent a major passenger airline contract for OneReg, and a significant endorsement of the company’s mission to modernise aviation safety and regulatory workflows worldwide.
According to OneReg’s founding chief executive Clinton Cardozo:“OneReg is operating in a niche that’s absolutely mission‑critical for aviation. However, the industry still runs on a lot of outdated systems and technology including emailing Word and Excel documents to share between parties. The reality is that as soon as these are emailed, you lose version control. When we started OneReg, we firmly believed that by building a platform that solves that problem, airlines and airports could get certified, approved and audited faster, and therefore move and innovate faster too.”
Innovation matters
Air New Zealand’s adoption of OneReg was championed by its former chief digital officer and now CEO Nikhil Ravishankar, who cited the company’s deep airline expertise and collaborative approach.
Ravishankar said: “What stood out most was OneReg’s willingness to co‑innovate and co‑develop solutions with Air New Zealand. OneReg offered a system with the flexibility to manage updates and documentation in real time, aligning with the airline’s broader shift towards more digital, data‑driven ways of working.”
In addition to the investment, Air New Zealand has already deployed OneReg across its Engineering and Maintenance divisions, where teams are using the platform to manage the policies, processes and procedures that underpin airworthiness and maintenance operations, further demonstrating OneReg’s ability to support complex, large‑scale operational environments.
What happens now?
With Air New Zealand now both a customer and shareholder, OneReg is preparing for rapid international expansion.
The company already supports most New Zealand airports and a growing number in Australia, and is now in active discussions with airlines and airports across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Cardozo said: “Having such a forward-thinking airline like Air New Zealand onboard opens a lot of doors for us. We are talking to other airlines, and announcements of contracts with new international airports are likely in the near future. Our technology advantage is a key differentiator in a sector dominated by legacy platforms.”
