Best Western to launch in Angeles
Best Western has announced plans to launch its first hotel in the Philippine city of Angeles.
An upscale 78-room Best Western Premier hotel, Casa Verde, is expected to open its doors in the city in 2014. Facilities will include an international restaurant, swimming pool and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Referring to plans to upgrade the nearby Clark airport to handle up to 80 million passengers per year by 2025, Best Western’s Vice President International Operations for Asia & the Middle East, Glenn de Souza said; “The potential for Angeles as a tourism destination is enormous. The infrastructure developments being planned for the city, and nearby Clark airport, are truly staggering, even by the standards of 21st Century Asia”.
“The recent arrival of AirAsia Philippines, as well as the presence of Cebu Pacific, SEAIR, AirPhil Express and international carriers such as Jin Air and Dragonair, is testament to the growth of the country. In the years to come, Angeles will become an increasingly important regional hub for business, industry, aviation and tourism, and we are delighted to be at the forefront of this development,” de Souza added.
Best Western currently operates six hotels in the Philippines – five in Manila and one in Boracay – offering a total of 610 rooms. An 80-room hotel is also under development in Cebu.
