Crystal has announced the effectiveness of its contract with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for a third next-generation ocean ship, scheduled for delivery in May 2034. This development is part of Crystal's long-term growth strategy, following the option exercised in 2024. The new ship will join Crystal Grace, set to debut in 2028, and her sister ship arriving in 2031, reinforcing Crystal's commitment to luxury cruising.
The upcoming vessel will accommodate 650 guests and weigh approximately 62,000 gross tonnes. Designed by international architectural firms, it will feature all-veranda suites, including an expansive Owner's Suite and new categories tailored for solo travellers. The ship promises a high crew-to-guest ratio, ensuring personalised service.
Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Executive Chairman of A&K Travel Group, expressed confidence in Crystal's future, stating, "This third ship reflects our long-term commitment to the brand and to our guests." Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, noted the strong demand for Crystal Grace, highlighting the brand's legacy and evolution for new luxury travellers.
Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of Fincantieri Merchant Ships Division, emphasised the partnership's strength, saying, "The effectiveness of the contract... reflects our shared commitment to innovation, craftsmanship and excellence."
This announcement follows the successful steel-cutting ceremony for Crystal Grace and the opening of bookings for its 2028 season, indicating robust demand for Crystal's itineraries
