Global Product Leader – Independent

Job Purpose
To create, iterate and continually drive the Independent product, pricing and content strategy on a global scale that supports the vision, strategic objectives and growth plans set by the Global MD.
This role will need to systematically work with any in region team members to surface and manage local market customer and business needs and nuances and prioritise these to the optimal commercial and competitive success of the business.
This role will be responsible for ensuring both Global and local product and content plans and results are delivered through innovation, strong leadership and communication.
This role is a key link between the Independent division and the Supply division. It will be responsible for working with the MD of Supply Operations to articulate a robust and comprehensive Independent business plan with clear priorities that can then be enabled by the Supply chain teams (globally and in region). This role can be based in any state within Australia.
Accountabilities
Supplier Partnerships
Create a range of unique, always-on offers for Independent agents/agencies as well as unique tactical offers to the network that increase acquisition, retention and share of wallet to FCTG
Represent the Independent business and articulate plans and goals to suppliers
Ensure our Supplier Partnership teams globally understand the key drivers and goals of the Independent business and our agents/agencies
Seek opportunities to create unique and highly compelling offers from Net margin growth suppliers for the Global Independent network that either add value to agents/agencies or drive commercial returns to FCTG Independent Division
Seek sponsorship through supplier relationships for key global Independent events. Assess membership opportunities to strengthen product offering and commercial returns
Strong Leadership
Create the right structure and foundation for a consolidated business
Provide discipline leadership and direction to the in-country Product team members
Ensure the global Independent product direction is clearly articulated and adhered to in all regions
Strategic Product, Content Vision and Plan
Create and drive a compelling Product and content strategic plan that is fully aligned to the Independent business’ vision and objectives.
Thorough understanding of the competitive landscape to identify opportunity or a lack of competitiveness, accompanied by a go to market plan to overcome or capitalise. 
Systematic contribution to customer discovery efforts in the product teams, using a methodical process such as design thinking or lean design to directly determine customer needs and wants. 
Create and deploy tactical strategies to increase share of wallet from agencies within the network, including maximising tier-tipping opportunities.
Drive the successful deployment of the Strategy and Plans
Create a regular forum of key stakeholders to ensure they understand the role they play in creation, deployment and success of the Strategy
Ensure everyone knows what the plans and expectations are and create ownership and discipline to deliver within set timeframes
Work with the finance teams to streamline the over-ride reporting and payment processes to ensure timely and highly transparent payment to agencies

Qualification
Degree Qualified: Desirable
Travel Industry Experience: Essential – at least 5 years 
Travel Product Experience: Essential – at least 3 years in a senior product or supply role
