Grab has announced updates to its Cross-Border SG-JB (Beta) pilot service, which has completed over 1,000 rides since its launch on 4 May 2026. The service, connecting Singapore with various locations in Malaysia, now features a reduced advance booking window of six hours, down from 12, and streamlined return bookings via automated notifications.
The enhancements aim to improve the travel experience for passengers, particularly during the upcoming school holidays. Alvin Wee, Senior Director of Transport and Country Operations at Grab Singapore, expressed gratitude to passengers and taxi driver-partners for their feedback, stating, "Cross-border travel comes with unique complexities, and their feedback has been invaluable in shaping these initial updates to our pilot service."
To encourage more users, Grab is offering an increased discount of up to 30% on cross-border rides from 29 May to 28 June 2026, up from the initial 20% discount earlier in May. This initiative is expected to boost travel between Singapore and Malaysia, especially among families and friends.
As the first platform to receive the Cross-Border Ride-Hail Service Operator Licence under the enhanced Cross-Border Taxi Scheme, Grab is committed to refining its operations. The company continues to collaborate with regulators, licensed taxi driver-partners, and passengers to ensure a reliable service
