Hilton has announced the opening of its first Asia Pacific resort, Canopy by Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort, marking a significant expansion into Japan's Miyako Island. Known for its stunning beaches and tranquil atmosphere, the resort aims to cater to the growing demand for immersive travel experiences in the region.
Situated in the Twuriba district, the resort is conveniently located near Miyako Airport and Miyako Shimojishima Airport, providing easy access to the island's picturesque landscapes. The 306-room property offers a variety of accommodations, from guest rooms with private balconies to expansive suites, all designed to reflect the island's relaxed pace of life.
The resort features four dining and social venues, each inspired by Okinawan culinary traditions and seasonal produce. Highlights include the MA-SANS BEACH HOUSE, which transitions from breakfast buffets to Japanese tapas dinners, and the SUNBEAR DAY CLUB, a rooftop venue offering music and cocktails with views of the Irabu Ohashi Bridge.
Joseph Khairallah, area vice president for Hilton, stated, “We hope the resort will serve as a new gateway for showcasing the unique appeal of Miyako Island, whilst delivering memorable experiences for domestic and international guests.”
Additional amenities include a family-friendly kids' club, a relaxation area, and a 24-hour fitness centre with ocean views. As part of Hilton Honours, guests can enjoy exclusive benefits when booking directly through Hilton channels.
This opening is part of Hilton's broader strategy to expand its Canopy brand in Japan, with future locations planned, including Canopy by Hilton Tokyo Akasaka in 2028
