The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is set to captivate families and students this summer with its "Palace Academy Summer Art-venture Series," featuring a variety of educational activities inspired by ancient Egyptian civilisation. The series includes the much-anticipated Adventure Night @HKPM and the Little Archaeologists Summer Camp, designed to foster cross-cultural understanding through engaging workshops and exhibitions.
In collaboration with the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt and supported by major sponsors such as Bank of China (Hong Kong), Cathay, and UnionPay International, the museum will host "Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums." This exhibition, the largest of its kind in Hong Kong, will run until 31 August, showcasing ancient Egyptian treasures and attracting over 420,000 visitors to date.
The Adventure Night @HKPM, scheduled for 7 to 8 August, offers children aged 5 to 10 an exclusive after-hours experience. Participants will be guided by costumed characters through activities that explore hieroglyphs and daily life in ancient Egypt. Meanwhile, the Little Archaeologists Summer Camp, held on 2 and 16 August, will allow young participants to engage in hands-on activities such as costume play and simulated archaeological excavations.
Additionally, the museum offers workshops like the Ancient Egyptian Paper Making Workshop and the Discover Pyramid Workshop, catering to various age groups. Families can also benefit from a special "HKPM Friends - Family" membership offer, priced at $126 (HK$988), which includes a pharaoh cat luggage tag as a welcome gift.
With these initiatives, the HKPM aims to provide an enriching cultural experience, inviting both local residents and travellers to explore the rich history and art of ancient Egypt and beyond
