IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a partnership with FUJI KYUKO Co., Ltd to transform the iconic Hotel Mount Fuji into the third property in Japan under its Vignette Collection. Originally opened in 1963, the 150-room hotel is renowned for its breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and Lake Yamanaka, situated at an elevation of 1,100 metres on Mount Odeyama.
The hotel will undergo extensive renovations before reopening as Hotel Mount Fuji, Vignette Collection. This addition joins the RIGHA Royal Hotel Osaka and The Windsor Hotel TOYA in IHG's expanding Vignette Collection, which now includes over 79 hotels worldwide. Abhijay Sandilya, Managing Director of IHG Hotels & Resorts Japan & Micronesia, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “Hotel Mount Fuji is a very special destination – a one-of-a-kind property steeped in history.”
Koichiro Horiuchi, President of FUJI KYUKO Co., Ltd, highlighted the hotel's legacy as Japan’s pioneering holiday hotel, noting its reputation for exceptional guest experiences. The renovated hotel will offer various amenities, including dining options, hot springs, a sauna, and a swimming pool. Guests can also enjoy activities such as golf, lake cruises, and visits to local attractions like Oshino Hakkai.
Easily accessible from Tokyo, the hotel promises unique experiences like star gazing and witnessing the “sea of clouds.” The transformation of Hotel Mount Fuji into a Vignette Collection property marks a significant milestone in IHG's Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio expansion in Japan
