IHG signs double deal with Arabian Hotels in Egypt

Holiday Inn Cairo – Citystars

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced an agreement with Arabia Hotels to open two new properties in Giza – the Holiday Inn Giza Sun Capital and Staybridge Suites Giza Sun Capital.

At perhaps the Middle East’s biggest travel trade event, Arabian Travel Market 2018, IHG has announced the signing of two upcoming properties together with Arabia Hotels, a subsidiary of Arabia Holdings. The new development aligns with IHG’s strategy to expand its portfolio across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Both are scheduled to open in 2023, and if you’re looking for a view that’s worthy of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World – the two hotels will have rooms directly overlooking the Pyramids of Giza.

Pascal Gauvin, managing director, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG, said of the signing: “We are delighted to be partnering with an esteemed developer, Arabia Hotels SAE to bring our brands Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites to Giza. Egypt is an important market for us and we have a strong presence in the country with over 2000 rooms and robust pipeline across our brands.”

Furthermore, the hotels are strategically located to cater to business, leisure and long stay travellers. It’s situated 30 minutes away from the city centre, and a 15-minute drive from the 6th October Airport.
