This successful travel company is looking for a new General/Product Manager based in Barcelona to manage all their products and events across Europe. They have around 70 staff across Europe to be organsied during the summer and the role will involve travel over the June to October months. You will be responsible for running and overseeing the operations, logistics, staff and administration for the company as well as the day to day running of the team in the Barcelona head office when not at an event.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of service and product delivery and have extended experience in the industry.

General Manager Responsibilities include:
Overseeing the management of the European Sales & Marketing Team and Customer Service for the events you are directly involved in
Overseeing budgeting, overhead control and ongoing management of divisional profit and loss
Management of long-standing commercial relationships as well as developing and managing new relationships
Supplier contracting, pricing and negotiation
Overseeing the recruiting and training of the Team in conjunction with regional HR
Coaching, mentoring and supporting the development of all office staff
Overseeing the responsible management, through colleagues, of on-road and on-site crew
First year you will be the onsite manager for Oktoberfest working alongside a team of 4 other managers in the months of September and October
Driving change and innovation in operations
Researching and analysing industry, market and competitors to make informed strategy decisions
Management of product development

General Manager Requirements:
Hands-on expertise in tour operator operations and an in-depth understanding of the sector are critical characteristics.
Highly proven operational capabilities homed in the field.
Superior communication and presentation skills both oral and written.
The individual should be well organized, computer literate, and detail-oriented
The candidate will be highly confident of their abilities, be able to handle multiple projects, and be ambitious to grow long-term with the company.
You must be a problem solver and can think on your feet.
This person should have the confidence to challenge and speak out constructively in support of or against proposed actions.
Past sales and/or business development experience

The Ideal candidate must not take themselves too seriously and be able to let down their hair.
Speaking Spanish or German is an advantage
