Head of Learning and Development London/North West/Hybrid. Travel Industry – An exciting opportunity, working for a leading company in the travel industry, responsible for partnering senior business leaders to agree and deliver development plans to move the business forward. You will be responsible for influencing change at a strategic level and applying best practice to support the organisations growth plans. Three of the focus areas (among wider responsibilities) are coaching, leadership development programmes and eading on the apprenticeship programme.
Head of Learning and Development Responsibilities
Reporting to the HR Director, you will be responsible for supporting the development of multi-discipline staff across a number of sites across the UK including the London area and the North West of England. You will define and deliver the people development strategy, partnering with senior business leaders and demonstrating expected results. You will create and deliver the succession planning programme, as well as implementing engagement and performance initiatives to create a culture of continuous improvement. You will ensure there are appropriate and flexible learning materials using classroom, e-learning, coaching and mentoring as well as external programmes. You will be involved with coaching senior leaders, running the senior leadership development programme, manage the ongoing apprenticeship programme ensuring maximum ROI from the apprenticeship levy, provide guidance on people development policies and contribute to the annual budgeting process.
Head of Learning and Development Skills Required
- A track record of leading on the L&D Strategy
- Experience partnering senor business leaders and creating training solutions to meet the business objectives
- Thorough knowledge of L&D processes/policies
- experience of the apprenticeship levy and its application
- Experience of setting up diversity and Inclusion programmes
- Experience of coaching and senior leadership development
- Strong business and commercial acumen
- Relevant degree and/or CIPD qualifications
- Flexible to travel nationwide essential; flexibility to occasionally travel internationally desirable
Head of Learning and Development Package
A basic salary of £65-80k depending on experience, life insurance 3 x salary, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, discounted travel
