Polar Regions Destination Specialist – Tour Operator – Brighton £20-30k DOE plus commission

This specialist Tour Operator are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious travel specialist, with extensive experience in designing tailor-made safaris to the Pola Regions (Antartica, Arctic Canada, Greenland, Norway, Svalbard) You must have excellent communication skills, have a passion for the natural world and be great at working in small teams. Their USPs are based on creating tailor-made trips for discerning travellers who want to experience something unique and potentially life changing, balanced with an ethical and environmentally responsible approach. They pride themselves on their in-depth destination knowledge and incredibly high standards of customer service. They are a small but committed and friendly team with a real passion for what they do. Polar Regions Destination Specialist – Responsibilities;

-Create ‘once in a lifetime’ itineraries to the Polar Regions
-Build relationships with external and internal clients including suppliers, preferred partners and travel agents
-Dealing with incoming enquires by telephone, email and online to include social media
-Working towards and achieving sales targets
-Work alongside the product and marketing team

Polar Regions Destination Specialist – Skills

-Demonstrable on the ground experience in your specialist destinations
-Recent experience of travel sales, preferably at a mid to high-end level
-Confident communicator on the phone
-Belief in your capacity to manage multiple sales enquiries and balance preparation and delivery of detailed information within itineraries that is accurate and client focused – both on a practical and creative level
-Ability to consistently meet sales targets
-Familiarity with office systems and software, specifically CRM and MS Office
-Experience and understanding of how to prioritise and manage time to meet both internal and external (client) deadlines
-Able to demonstrate examples of successful relationship management; persuasion and negotiation
-Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Additional Info;
Basic salary £20 – £30k depending on experience plus commission
Excellent working hours Monday – Friday 0900 – 1730 and 1 in every 4 Saturday 1000-1400
