The Highways Agency has pushed back the reopening of a stretch of the M4 that is the main link between London and Heathrow Airport.
The section of the M4 between junctions two and three will remain closed ‘for a few days’ despite initial announcement that work would be finished by today, according to the BBC.
It is unsure when the road will reopen due to the complexity of the fixing the problem and subsequent safety. However, the agency said it expects the work to be completed in time for the Olympics.
The motorway was closed earlier this week when a crack was found in a raised part of the road.
