In celebration of the UK’s National Travel Agent Day, Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) is running its Travel Agent of the Year award for the second consecutive year. MTA is asking travel agents to recommend a colleague to win the coveted award and for a chance to win a three-night city break for two at the Embassy Valletta Hotel to be redeemed in either 2021 or 2022.
The winning agent and the nominating travel agent will also win a place on the Malta Academy 2022 FAM (exact dates TBC). The FAM trip will provide the agents with a flavour of the archipelago with an included wine tasting session at a local vineyard, a visit to a sheep farm to learn how to make traditional Gbejna cheese as well as a meal prepared by a Maltese Michelin chef.
Speaking about the award, Tolene van der Merwe, director in UK and Ireland at MTA said: “We are so grateful for their continued support to share Malta, Gozo and Comino with holidaymakers. This is one of the reasons why we love the concept of National Travel Agent Day UK and wanted to create our own way of thanking agents for their dedication and perseverance. Now that we are on the UK’s Green List, we are continuing to welcome back British tourists back to enjoy our sunshine, culture, food and warm spirit and we look forward to rewarding some very special travel agents with a trip of their own soon.”
