Oceania Cruises shifts to adults-only voyages

The cruise line will only accept new reservations for guests aged 18 and older

Oceania Cruises, renowned for its culinary and destination-focused luxury voyages, has announced a significant policy change.

Effective immediately, the cruise line will only accept new reservations for guests aged 18 and older; this move aims to elevate the onboard atmosphere, aligning with the preferences of its clientele.

Existing bookings made before 7 January 2026, which include travellers under 18, will still be honoured.

Why make it a grownups-only thing?

The decision to transition to an adults-only experience is rooted in extensive research conducted by Oceania Cruises.

Feedback from loyal repeat guests, travel partners, and new customers highlighted a strong preference for the line's tranquil environment, sophisticated service, and unhurried pace; these attributes are particularly valued by mature, affluent travellers.

Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, stated, “Our guests have consistently shared that the tranquil environment aboard our ships is one of the primary reasons they return time and time again. By transitioning to an adults-only experience, we are enhancing the very essence of the Oceania Cruises journey – one defined by sophistication, serenity and discovery.”

At the same time, this policy shift underscores Oceania Cruises' commitment to providing a relaxed atmosphere of genuine hospitality and meaningful connection.

As such, the brand continues to promise inspirational journeys, allowing guests the freedom to explore at their own pace and savour each destination.
