The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter celebrated its 50th anniversary on 29 December 2025 at the Royal Tulip Kathmandu, marking a significant milestone in its contribution to Nepal's tourism development through public-private partnerships. The event gathered senior government officials, tourism leaders, and industry professionals to reflect on the Chapter's achievements since its inception in 1975.
Honourable Anil Kumar Sinha, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, inaugurated the ceremony, praising PATA Nepal Chapter's role in tourism planning, policy advocacy, and recovery initiatives. PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hameed, in a video message, commended the Chapter's exemplary contributions within the global PATA network.
The celebration featured cultural performances by PATA Nepal Chapter’s Young Tourism Professionals, showcasing Nepal’s rich heritage. Chairman Khem Lakai expressed gratitude to past and present leaders and partners for their support over the years.
A commemorative video titled “Reflections on 50 Years of the Public–Private Partnership Journey of PATA Nepal Chapter” highlighted key milestones. Remarks from Dipendra Purus Dhakal, Mukund Prasad Niraula, Prabin Pandey, and Deepak Raj Joshi underscored the Chapter's impact on sustainable tourism.
The event also included the PATA Nepal Chapter Annual Awards 2025, honouring individuals like Karna Sakya and Shiva Dhakal for their contributions to tourism and sustainability. The Golden Jubilee reaffirmed PATA Nepal Chapter’s commitment to advancing sustainable tourism and celebrated its legacy of partnership and leadership.
