Rendezvous Canada 2026, the country's largest international tourism trade show, is set to generate over $100 million in sales as it welcomes more than 500 buyers from 24 international markets to Toronto from 26 to 29 May. This event marks a significant opportunity for Canadian tourism businesses to connect with global markets, with over 60,000 business-to-business appointments scheduled.

The tradeshow is a key driver of tourism revenue, with the Canadian Tourism Outlook Report forecasting a 6% increase in travel and tourism revenue, reaching $140.9 billion this year. Tourism, one of Canada's top service exports, is expected to contribute up to 10% towards the country's goal of securing an additional $300 billion in non-US exports by 2035.

Rendezvous Canada 2026 will feature over 1,400 attendees, including 900 sellers from more than 500 Canadian tourism organisations. The event will also secure over 4,000 hotel room nights in Toronto, with an estimated direct economic impact of $67 million and an additional $57 million from indirect and induced impacts.

The event provides a platform to showcase Toronto's diverse attractions and prepare for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Last year, Toronto saw a record 28.2 million visitors, with international arrivals rising 8%, led by growth from the UK and Germany. Hosting the event in Ontario allows for strengthening international partnerships and showcasing the province's diverse tourism offerings.

Marsha Walden, President and CEO of Destination Canada, emphasised the importance of the event, stating, "This year we are welcoming a record number of international buyers, creating new opportunities for Canadian tourism businesses to diversify trade, grow global market share, and generate economic benefits for communities across the country."
