Royal Caribbean and Bank of America launch new credit cards

Royal Caribbean Group and Bank of America have unveiled the Royal ONE and Royal ONE Plus credit cards, marking the cruise industry's first tribranded cards. These cards, developed in partnership with Visa, allow travellers to earn and redeem rewards across Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea. The initiative aims to enhance customer loyalty and provide more value to guests.

The new credit cards are designed to accelerate rewards earnings on both everyday spending and cruise holidays. Cardholders can enjoy benefits such as no foreign transaction fees and various travel perks. Jason Liberty, chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, stated, "These new cards bring together the ways our guests holiday across Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea, making it easier to earn and use rewards."

The Royal ONE card offers no annual fee, 3X points on purchases with Royal Caribbean brands, and 2X points on groceries, petrol, and electric vehicle charging. Meanwhile, the Royal ONE Plus card, with a $99 (£99) annual fee, provides 4X points on purchases with Royal Caribbean brands and additional perks like priority suite boarding and a $200 (£200) anniversary reward.

Lora Monfared, head of consumer card products at Bank of America, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, highlighting the flexibility offered to travellers. The cards are part of Royal Caribbean's broader strategy to expand its loyalty programme and enhance the holiday experience for its guests
