South African Tourism engages Pune travel partners
South African Tourism recently held its 11th edition of the 'Learn South Africa' workshop series in Pune, engaging over 85 travel trade partners. The event, held on 12 December 2025, is part of a multi-city initiative aimed at tapping into the growing interest in international travel from tier-2 cities in India. The series will continue in Kolkata on 16 January 2026 and conclude in Lucknow on 27 February 2026. The workshop series is designed to provide travel partners with deeper insights into South Africa's diverse tourism offerings, including cultural routes, adventure activities, and emerging regions beyond popular destinations like Cape Town and Johannesburg. This initiative is crucial as non-metro travellers increasingly seek curated and immersive experiences, allowing partners to craft personalised itineraries. India remains a key source market for South Africa, with cities like Pune contributing significantly due to a strong presence of IT, manufacturing, and corporate travellers. Pune's travellers are showing a growing interest in experiential holidays that blend nature, adventure, wildlife, and culture. The workshop empowers travel partners with the knowledge to design itineraries that resonate with Pune's evolving traveller profile. FLY91 Adds Extra Flights on Pune-Sindhudurg-Pune Route to Meet Ganesh Chaturthi Rush
With Ganesh Chaturthi festive fervour building across Maharashtra, pure play regional airline FLY91 has announced additional flights on its popular Pune-Sindhudurg-Pune route to cater to the surge in festive season-inspired travel demand. On the Pune-Sindhudurg-Pune route, additional flights have been introduced for August 24 and 29, August 31, and September 5 and 7, to handle the increased festive rush. Tickets for these flights are now available for booking on the airline’s website. IHCL signs Gateway Bibvewadi Pune offering 180 keys
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, announced the signing of a new hotel in Pune under the Gateway brand. IndiGo announces tri-weekly flights between Pune-Bangkok from 22 Nov
IndiGo, India’s preferred carrier, unveils direct flights connecting Pune with Bangkok and Thiruvananthapuram. The Pune-Bangkok flight will be IndiGo’s first direct international flight first from the city of Pune which will begin operations from November 22, 2024. These flights will offer customers a seamless and convenient travel experience, making it an ideal choice for those planning a vacation with their families during the festive holidays or winter break. IndiGo will be the only airline offering direct flights between Pune and Thiruvananthapuram which will commence operations from October 27, 2024.
