Star Air launches 24 new flights to Odisha

Star Air, part of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group, is set to enhance regional travel in Eastern India by launching 24 new weekly flights.

Starting 4 September 2026, the airline will introduce a direct service between Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar and reinstate the Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda route. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for accessible air travel among business professionals, students, families, and leisure travellers.

The new Hyderabad-Bhubaneswar service will connect Hyderabad, a major hub for IT, pharmaceuticals, and education, with Bhubaneswar, known for its cultural heritage. This route is expected to bolster Hyderabad's status as a key aviation hub, facilitating both domestic and international travel. The service will also provide seamless access to Odisha's attractions, such as the Jagannath Temple and Konark's architectural marvels.

Simultaneously, the Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda service will link eastern and western Odisha, improving access to industrial centres and tourist sites like the Samaleswari Temple and Hirakud Dam. Operating six days a week, these flights offer flexibility for various travel needs.

Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer at Star Air, stated, “With the introduction of direct Hyderabad–Bhubaneswar flights and the reinstatement of our Bhubaneswar–Jharsuguda services, we are strengthening connectivity across Telangana and Odisha, making it easier than ever to access the region’s key destinations.”
