Princess Cruises has launched the Star Princess on its inaugural Alaska season, marking the ship's debut in Seattle. From 3 May to 13 September 2026, the next-generation sphere class ship will conduct 20 weekly roundtrip voyages from Seattle's Pier 91, navigating through Alaska's iconic Inside Passage.
The debut was celebrated with a traditional maritime plaque exchange between the Port of Seattle and Star Princess senior officers, including Captain Gennaro Arma. The event also featured an Alaska-themed drone show at Seattle Centre, highlighting the ship's arrival and the spirit of Alaska.
Captain Gennaro Arma expressed the significance of the occasion, stating, "It's especially meaningful for the officers and crew of Star Princess to be here in Seattle, a port with a proud maritime heritage and longstanding connection to Alaska."
The Star Princess will visit key destinations such as Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Sitka, offering breathtaking glacier views. The ship is joined by Royal Princess for the 2026 and 2027 Alaska seasons, both sailing from Seattle.
As part of its inaugural celebrations, Princess Cruises reaffirmed its commitment to Alaska's communities. Contributions include $100,000 to Ketchikan's Joseph T. Craig American Legion Post 3, $25,000 to Juneau Flukes for whale research, $25,000 to Skagway Childcare Council, and $10,000 to Sitka Trail Works.
The Star Princess, accommodating 4,300 guests, features advanced technology, luxurious accommodations, and a variety of dining and entertainment options. Princess Cruises, the leading cruise line in Alaska, is offering its largest-ever Alaska season in 2026 with eight ships and 180 departures
