CHRISTOPHER LUXON has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Air New Zealand. Luxon, who currently serves as the airline’s Group General Manager for International, will replace Rob Fyfe when the current CEO steps down in December.
AIREEN OMAR has been announced as the new Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Malaysia. Ms Omar joined AirAsia in January 2006 as Director of Corporate Finance, and has been instrumental in securing financing for the airline’s fleet expansion.
PAUL RICHARDSON has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Accor Greater China. Richardson joined Accor in 2005, most recently serving as Vice President for New Zealand & Fiji since 2007. He has more than three decades of experience.
RAYMOND TONG has been promoted to the newly-created role of Executive Director & Vice President of Development for Accor Greater China. Based in Shanghai, he joined Accor in 1986 as Development Manager for China & Hong Kong.
BOBBY ONG has been named as Accor Greater China’s new Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Ong has more than 30 years’ experience in KL, Bangkok and Beijing, most recently as Regional Vice President of Sales & Marketing China for Kempinski.
DOUGLAS MARTELL has been appointed as IHG’s new Vice President of Operations for Southwest Asia. Effective September 2012, Martell will succeed Chris Moloney who is retiring. He has been with IHG since 2001 and has held roles in Australia, Japan and China.
REMCO ALTHUIS has been named as Etihad Airways’ new General Manager for China. He has spent the last 19 years with KLM, including six years stationed in Chengdu, Guangzhou and Shanghai as the Air France-KLM’s Regional Manager for Eastern China.
DAVID RANGER has joined Etihad Airways as the airline’s new Partner Relationship Manager for the Asia Pacific South region. Ranger has 30 years’ experience including spells with British Airways and Qantas. He will handle Etihad’s airline partnerships.
MARC BRUGGER has been appointed Managing Director of Rosewood Beijing – the new luxury hotel scheduled to open 2013. Brugger brings 20 years’ luxury hotel experience to the role, most recently as General Manager of Crown Towers Hotel & Casino Macau.
ARUN MADHOK has been named as the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre, following the departure of Pieter Idenburg. Madhok was previously the centre’s Chief Operating Officer.
MICHAEL JOHNSON has been announced as the new General Manager of the Parkroyal Melbourne Airport. He arrives at the hotel with more than 30 years’ experience in Australia and New Zealand, 13 of which were spent managing hotels.
MARTIN FABIANO has been appointed General Manager of the U Sunsuri Phuket, Absolute Hotel Services’ new property. Fabiano’s experience includes spells with Hilton, Mandarin Oriental and Four Seasons. He arrives from the Park Plaza Bangok Soi 18.
CHRISTOPHER SNYDER has been named as Flip.to’s new Regional Sales Director for Asia Pacific, based in Bangkok. He joins the company from Meritus, where he was Regional VP of Revenue & Strategy. Flip.to generates guest feedback for hotels.
SAMUEL GACOS has been announced as the new Director of Sales & Marketing at Ho Chi Minh City’s historic Caravelle Hotel. With a career spanning 18 years, Gacos has worked with Shangri-La, Hilton, GHM across Southeast Asia.
DIDIER GUILLAUME HENRI GUIAUX is the new Food & Beverage Manager at the Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa. A Dutch national, Guiaux has experience at the UK’s Westin Turnberry Resort and the Sheraton Hongqiao Hotel in Shanghai.
TAKI PANAYOTAKOS has been named as the new Executive Chef at the Orchard Hotel Singapore. An Australian national, Chef Taki has more than 10 years of experience with five-star properties in Australia, Fiji, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
