Travel Forward has announced the launch of Travel Forward Connect, a global membership community designed to unite tourism destinations and businesses in addressing common challenges. This initiative seeks to fill a gap in the tourism sector, where destinations and global travel businesses often face similar issues such as climate risk and visitor pressure but lack a shared platform for collaboration.
Jeremy Sampson, CEO of Travel Forward, emphasised the importance of this initiative, stating, "Travel Forward Connect is designed to bring them around the same table, with a shared focus on honest conversation and practical action." The community will support organisations, including Glasgow Declaration signatories, in moving from climate commitments to practical action.
Travel Forward Connect offers a space for discussion, peer learning, and collective action. Members will have access to monthly online meetings, insight briefings, and emerging research. The community is open to destination management organisations, national tourism authorities, and tourism businesses committed to long-term destination resilience.
An introductory webinar is scheduled for 27 May at 3pm BST, where interested parties can learn more about the community and membership options. The founding cohort will help shape an initial collaborative pilot project aimed at transforming how tourism benefits destinations.
Travel Forward, formerly the Travel Foundation, has over 20 years of experience in developing practical solutions for tourism's impact on communities and places. For more information, visit Travel Forward's website
