Travelodge to debut in Thailand

Travelodge will make its debut in Thailand in the coming weeks, with the launch of a new property in the resort town of Pattaya.

On 1 July 2017, the former Premier Inn Pattaya will be rebadged as the Travelodge Pattaya, marking the lower-midscale brand’s entry into the country.

And a second Thai Travelodge will follow in the fourth quarter of 2017, with the launch of a brand new hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 11 in central Bangkok. Both properties will feature a restaurant, swimming pool and gym.

“This is an exciting moment for us as we welcome our first operational Travelodge hotel in Thailand,” said Jonathan Wigley, CEO of Travelodge Thailand. “Travelodge is already very well-known among travellers and this is the ideal opportunity to bring a name which people can trust implicitly to Thailand’s accommodation segment.”

Globally, there are more than 1,000 Travelodge-branded hotels across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Asia’s first Travelodge opened in Hong Kong earlier this year, and the company is also planning to launch in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore this year.
