WTM Africa 2026 is set to host its most ambitious programme yet, with over 70 sessions planned to address key trends and opportunities in African tourism. Scheduled from 13 to 15 April at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, the event aims to facilitate significant commercial impact and knowledge sharing among industry professionals.
The programme will include a new Wine Tourism Track, developed in collaboration with the Wine Tourism Conference. This track will explore how destinations can capitalise on the growing wine tourism segment, culminating in the premiere of a Blaauwklippen documentary and a curated wine tasting experience. Craig Bester, Chief Brand Executive at Blaauwklippen Wine Estate, expressed pride in showcasing their heritage and modern hospitality.
Other highlights include the return of IBTM Africa, focusing on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector, and the relaunch of the Sports & Events Tourism Exchange in partnership with Nielsen Sports. The event will also address the emerging skills gap in tourism through NextGen Ready sessions, developed with the African Youth in Tourism & Hospitality Association.
Sustainability will be a central theme, with the Responsible Tourism Conference and Awards. Speed Networking, sponsored by SimplyBiz Nedbank, will also make a return. James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, emphasised the importance of the event for global tourism collaboration.
Olivia Gradidge, Marketing Manager at RX Africa, highlighted the event's focus on connection and commercial impact, urging professionals to register. "WTM Africa 2026 is where the conversations that matter most to this industry will happen," she said. Registration is open, and the full programme is available online
