Wyndham Hotel Group has unveiled plans to add new properties in Singapore.
The company will open its new 405-room Days Hotel Singapore at Zhongshan Park in December 2012 and the 384-room Ramada Singapore at Zhongshan Park in February 2013.
The company has also appointed 30-year industry veteran Tony Cousens as General Manager of the two properties. Cousens previously managed the renovation and relaunch of the Marina Mandarin Singapore in 2005.
“I am confident that we have a very strong and competent management team that will provide inspiring leadership and service when our hotels open. Our immediate task now is to recruit associates to join us as part of our pre-opening team for both hotels. We are looking for people who will come and shape the future of the two international hotels within the Wyndham family in Singapore,” said Cousens.
Singapore’s new Zhongshan Park development is currently under construction near Balestier Road, and according to Wyndham, the Days Hotel and the Ramada properties will offer “the distinctive opportunity to stay next to a heritage park, a shopping mall and be within stone’s throw away from over a dozen cafes, restaurants and pubs serving a mix of local Asian and Western cuisine – all in one single destination”.
Cousens added; “We expect the new development at Zhongshan Park, once completely opened in March 2013, to transform the landscape and skyline of Balestier. This is a vibrant landmark development at the heart of Singapore.”
