Emirates has entered into a strategic agreement with GE Aerospace to advance its engine repair operations, focusing on the GE90 and GP7200 engines that power its Boeing 777 and part of its Airbus A380 fleet. This collaboration is part of a US$300 million expansion of the Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre (EEMC) in Dubai, aimed at enhancing maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities.

The agreement, signed by Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer Adel Al Redha and GE Aerospace's President and CEO Mohamed Ali, will see GE Aerospace providing technical consultancy and specialist training. This will help establish a repair line and equip Emirates' workforce with cutting-edge repair expertise. Al Redha stated, “We are delighted to take a strategic step in upscaling our engine repair capabilities by investing in infrastructure and partnering with GE Aerospace.”

The expansion of the EEMC, established in 2014, underscores Emirates' commitment to maintaining its fleet of over 270 aircraft, including Boeing 777, Airbus A380, and Airbus A350 models. Mohamed Ali of GE Aerospace remarked, “Emirates is a valued customer and an important partner. GE Aerospace is proud to support Emirates as it expands its engine repair capabilities.”

This partnership not only strengthens Emirates' maintenance capabilities but also contributes to the long-term development of the UAE's aviation ecosystem. By enhancing its repair facilities, Emirates aims to position itself as a centre of excellence in engine maintenance, ensuring efficient and seamless serviceability for its fleet
