Nine out of ten business leaders and high net worth individuals find that travel empowers their most valuable thinking, according to new data unveiled at the Business Travel Show by global chauffeur service Blacklane.

The 'Finding Flow - How Executives Excel on the Move' report, conducted by Censuswide, surveyed 2,000 executives in the UK and US, revealing that whilst travel can enhance productivity, achieving this focus is often challenging.

The survey highlights that 93% of business travellers are more productive when trips run smoothly, yet 86% struggle to maintain this level of focus during work trips. Disruptions in travel not only hinder productivity but also lead to additional catch-up work for 81% of executives upon their return. Furthermore, 79% report poorer decision-making when unable to achieve deep focus whilst travelling.

Key factors that help executives perform at their best include feeling calm (86%), travelling with a trusted provider (83%), and feeling in control (84%). However, crowded environments, inadequate technology, and delays are cited as major threats to maintaining clarity on the move.

Blacklane's CEO, Jens Wohltorf, emphasised the importance of seamless travel experiences, stating, “When travel is not calm and controlled, leaders simply cannot function at their optimum.” The findings were showcased at the Business Travel Show in London, where attendees could experience Blacklane’s 'Pause Pod', designed to help travellers recharge and reach their flow state amidst the busy venue
