LOT Polish Airlines has inaugurated its first direct service from Warsaw to Bangkok, marking a significant expansion in air connectivity between Central Europe and Thailand. The inaugural flight, LO65, was warmly received at Suvarnabhumi Airport, with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) leading the welcoming delegation. This new route, timed for the year-end travel season, is expected to attract higher-spending, longer-stay visitors, thereby dispersing tourism expenditure across Thailand.
The service will initially operate three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays—until 25 October 2026. From 26 October 2026 through March 2027, the frequency will increase to five flights weekly, providing up to 1,260 inbound seats per week. This direct connection offers an alternative to connecting flights, enhancing Bangkok's role as a gateway to Southeast Asia.
TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool highlighted the strategic importance of the new route, stating, “This new direct connection to Bangkok is the first destination in Southeast Asia, reflecting TAT’s direction to turn stronger air access into higher tourism value.” The initiative aligns with TAT's strategies to attract quality travellers and distribute tourism income more widely.
The launch coincides with a familiarisation trip organised by the TAT Prague Office, involving Polish travel operators, media representatives, and LOT Polish Airlines executives. The trip aims to showcase Thai tourism products and strengthen partnerships to stimulate demand from Poland and Central Europe.
Poland has been a growing source market for Thailand, with 237,570 Polish visitors recorded in 2025, a 31.46% increase from the previous year. TAT forecasts approximately 250,000 Polish visitors for 2026, with popular destinations including Bangkok, Chonburi, Phuket, Krabi, and Koh Samui.
