dnata Travel has reported a 31% increase in UAE staycation bookings for the upcoming October half-term, reflecting a growing trend for convenient, local getaways. The UAE remains the top choice for residents seeking quality family time without the hassle of extensive travel. Dubai leads the way, accounting for 78% of all staycation bookings, followed by Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.

The demand for hotels with easy access to leisure and entertainment, such as those on Yas Island and Palm Jumeirah, is particularly strong. Beach resorts, especially all-inclusive properties, are popular among families looking for value-driven holidays. Meerah Ketait, Head of Retail and Leisure UAE at dnata Travel, noted, "The sustained popularity of staycations reflects broader shifts in traveller behaviour, with families placing greater value on convenience, flexibility, and meaningful experiences."

International travel also remains robust, with the Maldives, Spain, France, Thailand, and Mauritius among the most popular destinations. Spain has seen a 65% increase in sales year-on-year, whilst demand for travel to the United States has risen by 6%. France and Japan are performing significantly better than last year, and Finland is emerging as a destination for those seeking cooler weather.

Family travel spending is on the rise, with average booking values up 6% year-on-year. Bookings through dnata Travel's retail stores have increased by 16%, and those via social media channels have tripled compared to last year. As social media continues to influence travel decisions, dnata Travel offers a range of holiday packages for both local and international destinations.
