TDM AWARDS - NOMINATE NOW!

Arctic Adventures, an Icelandic tour company, is illuminating the Into the Glacier ice tunnel in Langjökull with pink LED lights throughout October to support Bleika slaufan, the Icelandic Cancer Society's annual Pink Ribbon campaign. The initiative aims to raise awareness of cancers affecting women and will see 500 ISK from each ticket sold donated to the campaign.

The ice tunnel, typically bathed in blue light, transforms into a pink spectacle, symbolising the Pink Ribbon campaign without altering the glacier's natural ice. This visual change is designed to spark conversations about cancer awareness and support. Sandra Kristin Alexandersdottir, Marketing Specialist and Pink Ribbon Campaign Coordinator at Arctic Adventures, remarked, “Seeing the blue glacier ice glow pink is a pretty special sight, and it gets people talking.”

The campaign extends beyond the physical site, with the Into the Glacier website adopting a pink theme for the month. This annual tradition has become a meaningful event for Arctic Adventures, uniting employees and visitors in support of a cause that impacts many families in Iceland. “Cancer touches almost everyone in some way, whether it’s a mother, a sister, a friend, or a colleague,” Alexandersdottir added.

Visitors can contribute by purchasing tickets during October, with proceeds supporting Bleika slaufan. The campaign's 2026 message, “Sjáðu þig” (“See Yourself”), encourages women to be vigilant about their health. Arctic Adventures hopes to spread this message and foster community support, with the pink illumination serving as a reminder to care for oneself and others.
