Vietjet has inaugurated new flight routes linking Hanoi with Almaty and Prague, as well as Almaty with Prague, marking a significant expansion into the European Union. The new services, launched on 10 October, aim to enhance travel options between Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and the Czech Republic, fostering tourism, trade, and cultural exchange across Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Europe.

The inaugural ceremonies at Almaty International Airport and Václav Havel Airport Prague featured traditional water cannon salutes and cultural performances. Passengers on these initial flights received commemorative gifts, adding a special touch to their journeys. The routes will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays using Airbus A330 aircraft, offering Business and SkyBoss services with a diverse culinary selection.

Vietnamese citizens can now visit Kazakhstan visa-free for up to 30 days, enhancing travel convenience. Prague, known for its architectural heritage, and Almaty, famous for its natural landscapes, are now more accessible to Vietnamese travellers. Hanoi continues to serve as a cultural gateway for international visitors.

Nguyen Thanh Son, Vietjet's CEO, highlighted the importance of these routes in expanding the airline's international network. "We look forward to welcoming visitors to Vietnam and bringing Vietnamese and international travellers closer to destinations rich in culture, heritage, and unique experiences," he stated.

The new routes are expected to strengthen the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, as noted by Duong Hoai Nam, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic. Vietjet's expansion is set to support the growth of trade and investment whilst offering passengers unique cultural experiences on board.
