Avolon, a prominent global aviation finance company, has announced firm orders for 250 new-technology aircraft from Boeing and Airbus. The orders include 140 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and 110 Airbus aircraft, comprising 75 A320neo and 35 A330neo family aircraft, with options for an additional 100 aircraft. These orders aim to support the long-term fleet requirements of Avolon's airline customers and increase the company's total firm aircraft commitments to 749.

The orders are pending approval from Bohai Leasing Co., Ltd., Avolon's 70% shareholder, expected by the end of October 2026. Avolon's CEO, Andy Cronin, stated, "We continue to see strong demand for new-technology aircraft, reflected in our placement and trading activity this quarter. Against that backdrop, we are pleased to have reached agreements with Airbus and Boeing that strengthen and extend our long-term delivery pipeline."

In its Q3 2026 update, Avolon reported acquiring 10 aircraft and selling 29, with 112 more agreed for sale by quarter-end. The company placed 28 new-technology aircraft from its commitments, achieving 89% placement of its committed fleet for the next 24 months. Additionally, Avolon executed 84 lease agreements, extensions, and amendments, ending the quarter with a fleet of 1,092 aircraft, or 1,342 pro forma for the new orders.

Avolon also established a $1.5 billion (US$1.5 billion) commercial paper programme and closed a $855 million (US$855 million) unsecured term loan with a syndicate of primarily Asian banks, further strengthening its financial position.
