Andrew Mauro / Shutterstock.comUnited Airlines has announced that Starlink Wi-Fi is now available on nearly half of its daily flights, significantly enhancing the in-flight experience for its passengers. The airline has also launched a new digital tool, the "Starlink Tracker," allowing travellers to check if their upcoming flights will feature Starlink connectivity. This initiative is part of United's ongoing efforts to improve passenger satisfaction and is set to be completed by the end of 2027.
The Starlink Tracker, accessible at StarlinkTracker.United.com, provides real-time updates on the availability of Starlink across United's fleet. Passengers can enter their travel details to see if their flight will offer the service, track the rollout progress, and view installation statistics by aircraft type and hub location. This tool was developed in response to customer demand for more transparency regarding in-flight Wi-Fi services.
In addition to the tracker, United has extended its "Switch to Better Wi-Fi" status match campaign until 22 October. This campaign, which has seen a 275% increase in applications, allows eligible Delta SkyMiles and American AAdvantage members to earn United Premier status by meeting specific spending requirements and flying with United within 90 days.
Andrew Nocella, United's Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, stated, "Starlink gives customers even more reasons to choose United and keep coming back." With over 635 aircraft already equipped with Starlink, United leads the industry in offering this advanced connectivity option, with installations continuing at a rate of 20 aircraft per week. The airline aims to complete the rollout by the end of 2027, ensuring that more passengers can enjoy enhanced connectivity during their travels.
