TransNusa, the Asia-Pacific region's pioneering Premium Service Carrier, has launched its inaugural flight from Bali to Melbourne, marking a major milestone in its international expansion. The new daily service offers a competitive alternative on the busy Australia-Indonesia route, positioning Bali as a key international transit hub for Australian travellers.
The airline's strategic move follows its rapid growth in the Australian market, where it captured a 20% market share in Perth by increasing its flight frequency to 21 weekly flights by July 2026. Datuk Bernard Francis, Group CEO of TransNusa, highlighted the significance of the Melbourne-Bali route in shifting the airline's operations towards making Bali a primary transit hub.
The new route strengthens Bali's role as a gateway between Australia and Asia, providing travellers with a premium flying experience that includes generous baggage allowances and complimentary amenities. To celebrate the launch, TransNusa is offering introductory fares starting at $192 (AUD299).
Initially operating four flights weekly, the service will increase to daily flights from 15 November. The schedule is designed to accommodate both leisure and business travellers, with seamless connections to 11 prime island destinations across Indonesia and major Asian hubs like Guangzhou, Singapore, and Phuket.
TransNusa, established in 2005 and revitalised in 2019, continues to expand its network with a modern fleet and premium services.
