Qatar Airways expands with Western Sydney flights Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways has announced plans to expand its Australian network by introducing direct flights between Hamad International Airport in Doha and Western Sydney International Airport starting 15 December 2027. This new route will operate three times a week, offering travellers more options and enhancing connectivity between Australia and over 170 global destinations.

Western Sydney will become the airline's seventh gateway in Australia, joining Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra. The flights, available for booking from 19 December 2026, will be serviced by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featuring the award-winning Qsuite Business Class.

Hamad Al Khater, Qatar Airways Group CEO, stated, "Our launch at Western Sydney International is the next chapter in our long-standing partnership with Australia, one of our most important markets." He highlighted the route's potential to boost trade, tourism, and investment between Australia, Qatar, and beyond.

The introduction of this route aligns with the broader growth plans of the Qatar Airways-Virgin Australia partnership, enhancing access to international destinations for Australian travellers. Simon Hickey, CEO of Western Sydney International Airport, expressed excitement about the addition of Qatar Airways, noting the airport's 24-hour capacity as a key advantage.

Flights from Doha will depart every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, whilst return flights from Western Sydney will operate every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Passengers can book tickets via the Qatar Airways website or mobile app, with Privilege Club members enjoying additional benefits
