IHG debuts in Luang Prabang with new resort

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Holiday Inn Resort Luang Prabang Naluang Hill, marking its first venture into the UNESCO-listed city of Luang Prabang, Laos. Scheduled to open in 2027, the 101-key resort will be developed in partnership with Naluang International Resort and Hotel Limited. This move aims to expand IHG's footprint in Laos, adding to its existing properties in Vientiane.

The resort will be situated on Naluang Hill, offering panoramic views of Luang Prabang and easy access to the city's renowned cultural sites. The property will introduce Holiday Inn's family-friendly experiences, including the Kids Stay & Eat Free programme, to the region. Shi’ai Liang, IHG's Senior Director of Development for South East Asia & Korea, highlighted Luang Prabang's appeal as a destination rich in cultural heritage and natural beauty, noting the growing demand for leisure and corporate travel in the area.

Luang Prabang is recognised for its vibrant local culture and iconic attractions such as Mount Phousi and Kuang Si Falls.

The new resort will feature a range of amenities, including four dining venues, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa, and over 500 square metres of meeting space. Chen Yichao, Director of Naluang International Resort and Hotel Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with IHG, aiming to create a resort that captures the unique character of Luang Prabang.

This development is part of IHG's strategy to enhance its presence in Laos, where it currently operates two hotels in Vientiane. The new resort is expected to support Luang Prabang's growth as a leading leisure and meetings hub in the region.
