Antarctica21, a pioneer in Antarctic air-cruises, has opened bookings for its 2028-29 season, offering 47 departures—the most in its 25-year history. All expeditions will commence and conclude in Punta Arenas, Chile, utilising the company’s purpose-built vessels, Magellan Explorer and Magellan Discoverer.
The company revolutionised Antarctic travel in 2003 by replacing the two-day Drake Passage crossing with a two-hour flight, allowing guests to board expedition ships directly in Antarctica. This model remains the fastest and most comfortable way to reach the continent.
Brigitte Lämmle, Sales & Marketing Director of Antarctica21, stated, “Scheduling 47 Antarctic air-cruise departures for the 2028-29 season is the most exciting expression of our ambition yet. Each expedition promises an experience as refined as it is responsible.”
To celebrate the new season, Antarctica21 is offering early-booking savings of up to $5,000 (US$5,000) per person on all Classic Antarctica and Polar Circle air-cruise departures. This offer is available for new bookings made by 31 January 2027 or until cabins are sold out.
Antarctica21, based in Punta Arenas, is known for its small-scale, intimate expeditions and commitment to responsible travel. The company is a CarbonNeutral® certified member of the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO).
