Hard Rock Casino Tejon begins 5m hotel expansion

The Tejon Indian Tribe and Hard Rock International have commenced construction on a significant $725 million expansion of the Hard Rock Casino Tejon, transforming it into a full-service resort and entertainment destination. The project, expected to open in summer 2028, will introduce a 406-room hotel, expanded gaming facilities, dining options, and a Rock Spa, creating over 1,500 construction jobs and 350 permanent positions.

Located in Mettler, California, less than 15 miles south of Bakersfield, the expansion aims to enhance the property's status as a major entertainment and tourism hub in the Southern San Joaquin Valley. The new hotel will feature king and double-queen accommodations, including 119 suites, resort-style pools, and a Rock Spa with 13 treatment rooms. Additionally, the casino will see an increase of 900 slot machines, bringing the total to 3,000.

Octavio Escobedo III, Chairman of the Tejon Indian Tribe, highlighted the project's significance, stating, "Today marks another historic milestone for the Tejon Indian Tribe and the vision we have worked generations to achieve." The expansion will also include new dining outlets, a Centre Bar, and multi-use convention and event spaces.

Mike Bean, Property President of Hard Rock Casino Tejon, expressed enthusiasm for the development, noting that the addition of the hotel and amenities will elevate the guest experience and attract visitors from across California and beyond. The expansion follows the successful opening of Hard Rock Casino Tejon in November 2025, which has quickly become a premier destination along the I-5 corridor.
