Agoda has revealed the year-end travel preferences of South Korean families, highlighting growing interest in both international and domestic destinations. The data covers accommodation searches for trips between November 2026 and January 2027.

Phu Quoc leads international searches

Phu Quoc in Vietnam ranks as the top international choice. Accommodation searches increased by 33% compared with the same period last year.

Japanese destinations Fukuoka and Osaka follow closely. Fukuoka recorded a 61% rise in search interest. Both cities offer family-friendly attractions, including LaLaport shopping centre in Fukuoka and Universal Studios Japan in Osaka.

Jeju remains South Korea's favourite

Within South Korea, Jeju retains its top position. Searches increased by 8% year on year. The island offers family activities such as dolphin tours and theme parks.

Jeongseon also entered the domestic top ten for the first time. Searches surged by 110%. Its snow-covered landscapes and local cuisine are attracting more family travellers.

Alex Park, country director for South Korea at Agoda, said families increasingly seek destinations that offer activities and experiences for all ages during the year-end holidays.

Agoda offers more than six million holiday properties, 130,000 flight routes and 300,000 activities worldwide. New air connections could further improve access to popular destinations. These include Trinity Airways' Incheon–Kobe route, which will provide another travel option for South Korean families.
