VisitMalaysia 2020 campaign unveiled in India

Focusing on its commitment to India as its main potential market for growth, Tourism Malaysia launched the much-awaited ‘VisitMalaysia 2020’ campaign at a three-city roadshow covering Amritsar, Mumbai and Hyderabad.

Mohd Hafiz Hashim, director of Tourism Malaysia in Mumbai said: “VisitMalaysia (VM) 2020 roadshow in Mumbai enables us to do a quality networking with the travel trade fraternity and to boost Indian tourist footfall to Malaysia. The VM2020 roadshow emphasises India as main potential market for the country.”

In 2018, 600,311 (+8.6%) Indian tourists visited Malaysia. Statistics from January until May 2019 show that a total of 295,609 with the growth of 15.5% Indian visited Malaysia compared to same period last year.

A total number of 37 participants from Malaysia comprising a combination of 16 travel agents, four product owners, nine hotels, three airlines and five exhibitors shared the latest development of tourism in Malaysia.
