Cirium, the global aviation analytics provider, has recently unveiled its most recent insights regarding airline punctuality in 2023. According to Cirium’s 2023 ‘On-Time Performance Review’, Omani flag carrier Oman Air has reaffirmed its position as the leading, most punctual airline in the Middle East and Africa.
Oman Air also ranked as the most reliable airline in the Middle East and Africa in 2022, with flights arriving on time 91.38% of the time.
Cirium’s report relies on data and analytics sourced from over 600 real-time flight information sources. The report defines an on-time flight as one that arrives within 15 minutes of the scheduled gate arrival.
Punctuality rankings
The recent report highlights the following 10 airlines as the most punctual in the Middle East and Africa:
- Oman Air (Oman): 92.53%
- Safair (South Africa): 92.36%
- Royal Jordanian (Jordan): 87.51%
- Qatar Airways (Qatar): 85.11%
- Etihad Airways (UAE): 82.90%
- Saudia (Saudi Arabia): 81.29%
- Middle East Airlines (Lebanon): 79.15%
- Emirates (UAE): 78.48%
- Kuwait Airways (Kuwait): 73.18%
- Kenya Airways (Kenya): 71.86%
Moreover, the report also examines the world’s leading airports renowned for their punctuality, measuring flights that depart within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure. Notably, Doha’s Hamad International Airport secured the 10th position among the global leaders in punctuality.
