Superstar Mahesh Babu, his wife and former Miss India, Namrata Shirodkar, and their daughter Sitara Ghattamaneni checked into Cape Weligama for a family getaway, celebrating Sitara’s birthday at one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic luxury resorts, perched dramatically atop a cliff along the southern coast.
A Relais & Châteaux property under Resplendent Ceylon collection, Cape Weligama has long been synonymous with its crescent-shaped pool, overlooking the vast blue expanse of the Indian Ocean.

The vacation was a group affair, with Sitara joined by close friends and family. The crew was seen basking on the resort’s private Cove Beach, enjoying games of Uno, indulging in scrumptious meals, and soaking in the relaxed pace of the island country. The celebrations were filled with warm moments — from shared meals and rounds of pool to laughter-filled hours in the cozy corners of the resort.

Located on one of the island’s most impressive coastlines, the resort underwent a significant refurbishment in December 2024. Guests have since been able to enjoy innovative culinary offerings, updated family suites, and an all-new Forest School Kids Club, where children immerse themselves in nature through creative activities like clay modeling, paint-making, crafting bug hotels, and learning about local ecosystems.

The Ghattamanenis’ choice of Sri Lanka reflects their appreciation for meaningful travel experiences rooted in calm, nature, and connection. Beyond the resort, the family explored the coastal beauty and vibrant traditions of southern Sri Lanka.
Located just 15 minutes from Weligama town and a short drive from the historic Galle fort, Cape Weligama blends privacy with access to rich cultural experiences.
