Austrian Airlines launches ‘Dubai Deal’

Five flights a week to Dubai with the A320neo from now until the end of March

With a eye-catching “red-white-red” kick-off, Austrian Airlines celebrated the resumption of flights to Dubai in the evening after a break of ten years.

Vienna Airport now has a new direct connection to Dubai. With a eye-catching “red-white-red” kick-off, Austrian Airlines celebrated the resumption of flights to Dubai in the evening after a break of ten years. The so-called “Dubai Deal” – limited to the period between the beginning of December 2025 and the end of March 2026 with five weekly connections, operated with the A320neo fleet and an attractive pricing – is in high demand.

The celebrations had been going on all day with giveaways for all guests at Vienna Airport – the small “suitcases” with Mannerschnitten in Austrian Airlines Dubai style were very popular. At the festively decorated Gate G17, the guests of the first flight OS89 – including numerous representatives of the tourism industry as well as trade and travel media – were then given a ceremonial send-off by Vienna Airport CEO Julian Jäger and Austrian Airlines CEO Annette Mann after the obligatory ribbon cutting.

Julian Jäger, CEO of Vienna Airport: "The return of Austrian Airlines' Dubai connection confirms the strong demand for connections to the Middle East. We have been recording high growth rates in this region for years, and Dubai is one of the most important destinations for the Austrian market – both for tourism and business. The decision by our home carrier underscores its growth course and is an important signal – for Vienna Airport as well as for Austria as a business and tourism location.“

”We always say: an airplane belongs in the air! We are trying something new, challenging the market a little and making the best possible use of the capacities of our A320neo fleet in winter. With the Dubai deal, we have embarked on an exciting venture. Of course, the competition on this route is strong and comfortable. Nevertheless, the very satisfactory booking situation shows that the mix of “slim aircraft, slim price” is working,” says Austrian Airlines CEO Annette Mann.

Dubai deal surprises guests with stylish design and small amenities

The “Customer Experience” team at Austrian Airlines was motivated by the fact that instead of long-haul jets with in-flight entertainment, the narrow-body A320neo is now being operated on the approximately 4,250 km route between Vienna and Dubai. The result is a harmonious, well-rounded package with “collector’s potential”: All booking classes feature cozy blankets and pillows, while the specially designed “Dubai” amenity kits, including practical holders for all common mobile phones, and Dubai puzzle books with attractive competitions for “digital detox” are eye-catching collector's items. The well-stocked Austrian Melangerie – 85% of the products here come from Austria – caters to the physical well-being of guests on board. In addition, there is a free “pre-order” service for the approximately five-and-a-half-hour flight with an additional 10% discount on all meals ordered in advance.
