Loganair marks two millionth passenger at Aberdeen

Loganair, the UK's leading regional airline, has celebrated flying its two millionth passenger through Aberdeen Airport, marking a significant milestone for its busiest hub. The fortunate traveller, Roy Davidson from Burray, Orkney, was surprised with complimentary flight vouchers as he checked in after completing an offshore rotation.

This achievement underscores Loganair's crucial role in connecting Scotland's islands and supporting the energy sector. Aberdeen remains the airline's largest operational base, employing 195 people and supporting 10 routes. Loganair is also the largest operator at Aberdeen Airport.

Roy Davidson, who has relied on Loganair's services for his fortnightly work rotations for eight years, expressed his gratitude: “I’ve relied on this service for years – it’s simply the best way to get to and from offshore work. The reliability has really improved, and with ADS keeping fares manageable, it makes a real difference. I’ll be using the vouchers to treat my wife somewhere special.”

Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, remarked, “Reaching two million customers at Aberdeen Airport is a tremendous moment for Loganair and reflects the strength of our partnership with the region. For many, including Roy, our services are an essential part of daily life, connecting families, supporting industry and underpinning the energy sector.”

Robert Paterson, head of operations at Aberdeen International Airport, added, “It’s a real pleasure to celebrate this incredible milestone with Loganair. Two million passengers is a fantastic achievement and reflects the strong connection between our airport and the communities Loganair serves.”

Loganair continues to offer its customers benefits such as a 21kg luggage allowance and the opportunity to collect Avios through its partnership with a global travel rewards programme. Earlier this year, Loganair was named the UK’s second-best short-haul airline in Which?’s annual customer satisfaction survey.
