Secret Atlas, the Expedition Micro Cruise specialist, has announced its 2027 summer Arctic itineraries, featuring exclusive voyages to Scoresbysund and Svalbard. These expeditions, designed for just 12 guests, promise unparalleled access to the world's largest fjord system and the wildlife-rich landscapes of the High Arctic.
The micro cruises are scheduled for the prime season, offering guests the chance to witness the Northern Lights and explore remote areas inaccessible to larger vessels. Michele D'Agostino, co-founder of Secret Atlas, emphasised the benefits of smaller group sizes, stating, "Our new 2027 season is built on the belief that small means more—more flexibility, more shore time, and a much smaller environmental footprint."
The itineraries include the Svalbard Circumnavigation Micro Cruise, priced from $14,800 (US$14,800) per person, departing on 28 July and 15 August 2027. This 12-day journey aims to explore Svalbard's remotest reaches, including the Austfonna ice cap. Another option is the Svalbard and Greenland Summer Micro Cruise, starting at $18,995 (US$18,995) per person, setting sail on 8 August 2027. This 14-day expedition combines the best of Svalbard and East Greenland, featuring the majestic Scoresbysund fjord system.
Both voyages depart from Longyearbyen and are conducted aboard the MV Vikingfjord and MV Freya, equipped with ensuite cabins, a panoramic lounge, a sauna, and an on-deck hot tub. These expeditions offer a unique opportunity for private family adventures, couples, and solo travellers seeking an intimate Arctic experience.
